Background for the Age of Chaos:
Thousands of years past a dark shadow covered the world, and the only force that could stop it was perhaps the greater of two evils. Intending to demolish their enemy, the hundred channelers went to attack at the heart of this darkness, but the leader, the Dark One, struck back with vehemence. In a futile attempt to destroy the Dark One the channelers had instead harmed themselves, as one by one they were entangled in the web of the taint on the male half of the True Source. Insanity plagued their minds, rendering them unable to control the now marred power. As a result, the wielders of saidin unleashed upon the land utter devastation, leveling cities, opening gaping rifts and forever altering the face of the world.
This left the female channelers working tediously to put it back together only a fraction of the splendor it had once been.
The world struggled back to its feet, only to learn that the way back to glory wasn’t as easy as it had once been. Returning to a more primitive form of life, even the Aes Sedai were brought down to a lower understanding, and in these times lost a great many of the talents they once possessed. The entire world was in despair as the few remaining from the Breaking made their way to find what was lost, and for a great many years the world waited. Time went on, and people began waiting on when the prophesized Dragon Reborn would come, and thousands of years went by as the world held its breath.
Now as the Dragon’s rebirth draws inevitably closer and the world is finally seeing Tarmon Gai'don on the horizon, fear has taken root. The flames of wars rise as the land is torn apart by the evils that swirl about it, and the creatures of the dark stir now more than ever.
There is only one who can stop this, only one who can spare the nations and peoples he shall rule over from war. His choices are numerous, but the consequences are great, and all rests at his fingertips as he prepares to bring the world out of the Dark One's grasp.
The world will be broken by him, but it they is he shall bring it back together, and all shall follow him. The east must be the west, the north must be the south for him to win Tarmon Gai’don, the world will scream, but he must continue. The darkness may encompass him, but he must endure, and follow in the Light or the hopes of the world will fall. The past will be undone, and the Dark One's touch will spread, destroying all life if he can not do what is intended...
